The voice came over the radio in burst of static

"Can't achieve position! Under heavy fire. Request air support
in sector 12b. Repeat. Under heavy fire! Send air support now!

The general overheard the request on the base radio.

"Damn! Radar can't see anything, and five recon squads have failed to
get up a phantom radar. Send fighter squad Alpha! NOW! Damn this
canyon! Its a jackass canyon!"

-----------------------------

Set your difficulty setting to HARD.

This map uses AirLand_SH ai profile. If you want to know about the ai,
download the zip from tamec.org.

Replace EarthTrees.hpi (if you have it), with EarthMetal.hpi.
Place EarthMetal.hpi in your TA directory.

NOTE: If you experience 'feature not found' problems, remove TamecXXX.hpi
from your TA directory. Then move TamecXXX.hpi back into your directory.
TA reads the hpi files in the order they appear in the TA dir. EarthMetal
must be first. You can check this by opening a DOS window, moving to your
TotalA directory, then type DIR *.hpi. EathMetal must appear before
TamecXXX.hpi

Map goals

Superb play was first order. The center is as complex and
interesting as I could get.

Not a lot of effort went into placing features on this map. Its good
enough.

There are mechanical problems with the mesh of the cliffs. TOUGH! I
can only spend so much time with it, and I have had a second go
round with this tileset. However, the mesh should not interfere with
gameplay.

Special note:
The river presented me with a new challenge. I wanted to force the
player to develop his base on both sides of the river. That is why
the map is so narrow. I also wanted to present the challenge of
figuring out the best way to build your base. You can easily go wrong.
I have. At least 5 times. If you go wrong, the ai will give you one big
freakin' headache. After all, its a jackass canyon!

--------------------
Helpful Hints

Crawl up/down this canyon. Establish an initial camp, and then your
main base. Use both sides of the river for your camp. Don't build too far
forward or you'll be in range of enemy long range Bertha/Intimidator.

Establish forward lookout positions. Radar can't see well, so you'll want
to get a radar as far forward as you can, off to either side. Build your
main long range radar, and then build a forward reconn outpost.

Good luck! Yer gonna need it!

Special Thanks

To Gen Jason for his superb Desert Rivers tiles.
